Areas of practice

In a case, every move counts, and experience is your guide. We work predominantly in civil law, commercial and corporate law and tax law, but we take on cases across a wide area of expertise and treat them with equal seriousness. The areas below are those most relevant to businesses and international clients; the full list is on the Areas of practice page.

  • Civil law (commercial relevance)

    Core specialisation

Drafting and enforcing contracts of all kinds, contractual and tort liability, enforcement proceedings and property matters, with assistance and representation before the courts and public authorities.

  • Commercial and corporate law

    Core specialisation

Drafting and negotiating commercial contracts, incorporation documents, articles of association and shareholder-meeting (AGM) resolutions; filings before the Trade Register; and assistance and representation in commercial and corporate disputes before the courts.

Specialist tax advice, administrative and judicial appeals, and representation before the tax authorities and the courts, at every stage of proceedings, covering VAT, transfer pricing, joint liability and both national and EU tax law.

  • Insolvency of individuals and companies

Assistance in insolvency proceedings, whether you act as debtor or as creditor: opening the procedure where warranted, and registering your claim with the body of creditors to protect your rights.

  • Banking law

Assistance in your dealings with banks and non-bank financial institutions (NBFIs): review of credit agreements, identifying possible unfair terms, and representation in disputes with financial creditors.

  • Employment law

Representation in employment disputes, acting for either employee or employer, including claims for sums owed and challenges to disciplinary measures.

  • Public procurement

Assistance before you submit a tender and through the contentious stage: preliminary notices, challenges before the National Council for Solving Complaints (CNSC) and actions against its decisions. Time limits here are very short.

  • EU funds

Legal advice for accessing non-reimbursable financing and EU funds, from checking eligibility to preparing the documentation needed to submit a project.

How we work

  1. I.

    First, a phone call.

It helps to speak by telephone first, so we can set a meeting, at our office or another agreed location, and hear a brief outline of your situation before we discuss it in detail.

  2. II.

    The meeting.

At the appointment you set out your situation in full, and we present the possible ways forward for resolving it. At the same time you learn the costs involved and the documents needed for your file.

  3. III.

    Ongoing work.

Depending on the complexity of the matter, we may arrange several meetings to keep you up to date, especially where a dispute runs over a longer period. You are also kept informed by telephone, as often as needed.

  4. IV.

    Throughout.

Over this time you have the chance to form your own view of the quality of the service, the way we work, and the seriousness of the coordinating attorney.
